When I joined the city council in 2015 I put together a 1-Year plan, 3- year plan and 5 year plan for the golf course. Im in the middle of my 3rd year and we are right on target. It all started with an Idea and a lot of hard work.
I can still remember sitting in a late meeting at city hall when Mayor Larry Allen and Alderman Alan Olson told me that if I put could get a group together and make new signs that they would buy the first two signs at $300 each. After that meeting I got together with Russ Nentrup from Lost Mill Woodworking and we developed a plan for our sponsors.
Recruiting members of the Lockwood C.I.A. with a membership charge of $100 wasn’t as easy as I had hoped bit it wasn’t as hard as some might think either.
In 2017 we ended up with 15 paid members. Kenny Snider, Russ Nentrup, Alan Olson, Ryan Beerly, Broc Divine, Jarrod O’Connor, Eldon Eggerman, Dennis Cornish, Sherri Stoll, David & Elaine Coose, Jason Cunningham, Alan Stockard, Clay Lasater, Sam Sconce and Randy Meents. Our Honorary members were Perry Finley, Kent Wynes, Bob Smith and Doyle Stockard.
Our Sponsors, I can’t say enough about these local businesses that go above and beyond in our community. I don’t mind organizing events, volunteering on community days when our businesses have our back. Please go to our Partners page to see a list of our current sponsors. If your on the course you will see their names or logos on the signs feel free to take a “selfie” with your favorite local business logo and post it to our page.
In 2018 we welcome our newest members Rick Gastel, Stefan Ogden and Jake O’Connor to our team.
We are still looking to grow our team and we welcome all the help we can get. Our paid memberships are still $100 and we are accepting Honorary Members as well. We ask that our Honary Members try to volunteer at least 20 hours a year.
